Conté à Paris Pastels with Artist's grade pigments give brighter, stronger, cleaner colours and the creamy texture allows exceptional flow of application to enable better expression, spontaneity and versatility.
Conté à Paris was founded in 1795 by Nicolas Jacques Conté, who developed a modern graphite lead from a mixture of clay and graphite, which could be used for different grades of hardness. Conté later developed a graphite lead without wooden casing and worked on making colours permanent. The qualities that Conté developed in the following decades, makes the brand a true benchmark for professional artists.
